Laura McDermott is an Irish design and innovation consultant, based in Madrid. She is the Director of Academic Experience and Innovation at IE Business School, Adjunct Professor of Innovation and Design at IE University and formerly the Design Lead in the IE Center for Social Innovation and Sustainability. Laura designs sustainable innovation projects, specifically from a behavioural lens, with educational institutions, startups and corporates. She has published articles in The Beam and Global Voices, as well as receiving two IE Awards for the Humanities for her writings on Ethics, Democracy, Behavioural Design and Sustainability.

From early in his career Christian sought for ways to use the mindsets, models, and tools of entrepreneurship to create impact.
His MBA gave him the opportunity to research bottom up social innovation amongst refugees in Jordan and led him to consult social enterprises in Lebanon. Inspired by his research and work in the region, he co-founded a social enterprise in London that supported social enterprises to internationalise.
In London, he also joined Euclid Network (EN), was part of the move and reestablishment in The Netherlands, and now oversees the implementation of a number of projects, EN’s impact measurement, and generally the work on social innovation.

John Kearns is Chief Executive of Partas, a social enterprise with over 60 staff, working to foster entrepreneurship, business training and social economy since 1984. Partas operates four Enterprise Centres and a micro-loan fund and conducts research on a national and EU level into many areas of social and economic policy, particularly self-employment and social entrepreneurship. Partas has also developed a range of innovative new projects such as Ireland’s first social enterprise brewery (Priory Brewing), artisan food hub (The County Fare) and a new co-working hub (The Edge).
John has been a member of the ‘Social Enterprise Task Force’ in Ireland and is the Irish representative on the expert advisory group to the European Commission on Social Enterprise. He has also worked with partners throughout Europe on developing their social enterprise policies and practices.
